El 5 de mayo de 1996 se constituye oficialmente la Asociaci\u00f3n de Desarrollo Integral (ADI) Alto Laguna, la cual es la figura oficial reconocida frente al Estado para canalizar acciones y beneficios.<br> Desde entonces, ha trabajo por el desarrollo de la comunidad.\n<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2221682 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"2221682\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/altolaguna.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/web7.jpg\" title=\"web7\" alt=\"web7\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fc76bff elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"fc76bff\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">En el territorio se encuentran tres principales comunidades: <\/br><\/br>\n<b>1. Dos Brazos <\/b>(con alrededor 15 casas). Se caracteriza por tener la \u00fanica plaza deportiva oficial del territorio. Ac\u00e1 se desarrolla turismo (albergue Agua Rica Lodge). Cuenta con una iglesia evang\u00e9lica y la organizaci\u00f3n para el desarrollo Asociaci\u00f3n Ind\u00edgena por la Naturaleza y lo Social (AIPONASO), que promueve proyectos de mejoras en infraestructura y actividades productivas, entre otras. En la comunidad viven cerca de 76 personas, muchas en condiciones de pobreza extrema, pobreza y vulnerabilidad. Por lo general, desarrollan actividades agr\u00edcolas para la subsistencia.<\/br><\/br>\n<b>2. Alto Laguna<\/b> es el centro del territorio, por lo tanto, concentra m\u00e1s poblaci\u00f3n (alrededor de 29 casas) y la infraestructura comunal, como el sal\u00f3n comunal, la oficina de la asociaci\u00f3n, el centro educativo, la casa de salud y el parque infantil. Entre las organizaciones, se pueden encontrar: la ADI, todos los comit\u00e9s (de agua, de deporte, de salud, de la ni\u00f1ez y adolescencia, entre otros), consejos como el Consejo Local de Educaci\u00f3n Ind\u00edgena (CLEI), Junta de Educaci\u00f3n, negocios como el turismo (Jemengo T\u00f6e), pulper\u00edas, desarrollo de producci\u00f3n de pollos de engorde, gallinas ponedoras, cuido de cerdos, entre otros. En Alto Laguna viven cerca de 90 personas con un alto porcentaje con condiciones de pobreza extrema, pobreza o en condiciones de vulnerabilidad. Tienen un m\u00ednimo porcentaje de habitantes con estudios superiores que desarrollan actividades tur\u00edsticas, artesan\u00eda, trabajo agr\u00edcola o laboran como funcionarios, por ejemplo, el Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n P\u00fablica (MEP).<\/br><\/br>\n<b>3. Tamand\u00faa<\/b> es donde est\u00e1 el centro tur\u00edstico del lugar (Tamandua-lodge). Su territorio est\u00e1 integrado por dos grandes o principales familias, la familia Garc\u00eda y la familia Carrera (alrededor de 12 casas). Al igual que las dem\u00e1s comunidades, las personas presentan un alto porcentaje de pobreza extrema, pobreza y alg\u00fan grado de vulnerabilidad. Se dedican a la artesan\u00eda o a la agricultura para la subsistencia.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-124dfa2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"124dfa2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/altolaguna.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/web8.jpg\" title=\"web8\" alt=\"web8\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-233fac7 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"233fac7\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-446368b elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"446368b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/altolaguna.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/web9.jpg\" title=\"web9\" alt=\"web9\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d77cf0a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d77cf0a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">El territorio ind\u00edgena de Alto Laguna, en 2023, tras una serie de procesos y trabajos de a\u00f1os anteriores, decidi\u00f3 dar continuidad a la Estrategia Nacional REDD+ (ENREDD+), Pagos Basados en Resultados, con el objetivo de planificar los proyectos que deben incluirse en el plan ambiental, forestal y territorial (PAFT), un plan que debe construir cada territorio ind\u00edgena de Costa Rica, con el fin de acceder a recursos del financiamiento clim\u00e1tico y como compensaci\u00f3n por proteger los bosques.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e221b69 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"e221b69\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/altolaguna.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/AltoLaguna046-o.jpg\" title=\"AltoLaguna046-o\" alt=\"AltoLaguna046-o\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9a1efd2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9a1efd2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Por medio de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Desarrollo Integral (ADI) Alto Laguna, se estableci\u00f3 una hoja de ruta, con la funci\u00f3n de contener todas las herramientas necesarias para el cumplimiento de normas y regulaciones nacionales e internacionales, para salvaguardar los pueblos ind\u00edgenas. La hoja de ruta empleada para el desarrollo del PAFT de Alto Laguna consider\u00f3 la participaci\u00f3n de j\u00f3venes, adultos, mujeres y hombres.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5c65471 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"5c65471\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">En temas de conservaci\u00f3n ambiental, en 2002 se aprueba la integraci\u00f3n de bosques del territorio al pago por servicios ambientales (PSA), esto le permiti\u00f3 a la comunidad crecer en infraestructura comunal y vial. El crecimiento y desarrollo social y econ\u00f3mico del territorio se basa principalmente en los incentivos que ingresaron por los bosques durante los a\u00f1os 2003-2009 y 2014-2019, fondo con el cual se abri\u00f3 la trocha para el acceso a la comunidad, que fue mejorada luego por la municipalidad. Tambi\u00e9n se propici\u00f3 la construcci\u00f3n del sal\u00f3n y la oficina administrativa, mejoras en condiciones de suelo para las construcciones de bonos de viviendas, apoyos econ\u00f3micos a estudiantes de primaria, bonos a familias de escasos recursos, entre otros. El territorio cuenta con una gran riqueza natural, como bosques primarios (con presencia de muchos \u00e1rboles y especies en peligro de extinci\u00f3n), alcanzando aproximadamente el 90% de su territorio y rodeados por la reserva forestal Golfo Dulce y, el m\u00e1s importante: el Parque Nacional Corcovado.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-db69ec1 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"db69ec1\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div Tiene una \u00fanica v\u00eda de acceso. Por su ubicaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica, el ingreso se da por el sector de la Palma, de Puerto Jim\u00e9nez. Este territorio limita con dos importantes \u00e1reas silvestres protegidas del \u00c1rea de Conservaci\u00f3n Osa: el Parque Nacional Corcovado y la Reserva Forestal Golfo Dulce.
